Paternity Leave

Today is the last day of Leejay's paternity leave. This is him trying to soak it all in. All my loves in one photo. My heart wants to explode!

I was very fortunate to have Leejay with me for the first few weeks. They say that babies change by the day. I would argue that they change every hour. He's back at work tomorrow, but I know that his work is never in vain. He works hard for our family. We are truly blessed!  He's the real MVP.

"Make It Last"

Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary! Leejay and I were married on September 28, 2012. We had a small, intimate wedding at The Palace of Fine Arts here in San Francisco. Exactly 1 year later we renewed our vows in Los Angeles in front of extended family and friends and threw an awesome party/reception. Some of our besties (and one of our favorite couples), Jesse and Grace, gifted us with something so special. They wrote us a song and played it live!

This song is amazing and 4 years later means more to us than ever! It's silly and quirky, but it is everything that we are. For reference, a "giddiot" (giddy idiot) is a word smash Leejay and I made up for ourselves when we were dating.

Music and Lyrics by Jesse Barrera and Grace Macapagal

I plan to hold your right hand
When were all old and wrinkly
I plan to wake u up and kiss you
Even when your breath is kickin'

You're gonna be a mother
Our kids are gonna be so tight
We're gonna have a family
They're gonna keep us up all night

And we're gonna make it through
We're gonna be so good yeah
We're gonna make it last
As long as we don't get ugly and lazy
We're gonna make it through
As long as you got me
And I got you

I know I picked the right man
'Cause he likes food and Breaking Bad
He says all the right things
And knows when to make me laugh
He's gon' be a good dad
The kind that gives piggy backs
Kills all the spiders (CANDY CRUSH: DIVINE)
And kills all the bad guys (WALTER WHITE: JESSE!)

We're Giddiots
Giddy idiots
Getting married again
We're Giddiots
Getting married again and again
And the year after that one
Again and again
And the year after that one too

(Yo this is Shaq, Where the wheaties at?)

And we're gonna make it through
We're gonna be so good yeah
We're gonna make it last
'Cause we are... BAD ASS
We're gonna make it through
As long as you got me
And I got you

Wife Tip Wednesday: Tip No. 1

I decided to start a Wednesday series on things that I am learning or have learned about the joys of that wife life. You might find them thoughtful, quirky, or dumb… but I am comfortable with that. Each day I find something new, fun and interesting about my spouse and the life we live together, and thought it's be fun to share! This may be applicable to both wives and non-wives alike. Enjoy!

Here is Tip No.1 -

Take the time to just be still and bask in the moment as you watch your love when they aren’t looking.

Sometimes I find myself just staring at what God has blessed me with and the amazing things He has given me. I appreciate these moments because I am reminded of how lucky I really am.
